Infographic: Why biking to work is good for you

I found this great infographic on the health benefits and $ savings of biking to work.

Completely agree that people who bike to work report feeling a greater sense of freedom, relaxation and excitement than car commuters. I definitely feel that every day I bike pass a traffic jam of cars.

Enjoy!

  1. I love the infographic and your blog. Toronto is a great city in a great country. The info graphic is misleading and wildly inaccurate on the “1/2 of the U.S. population lives within 5 miles of their workplace”. According to the the most recent data from the U.S. Census Bureau the average America commutes 16 miles each way or 32 miles round trip to work. Aside from a handful of people who work from home, I only know three people who work within 5 miles of their home. HAPPY RIDING!

    • Hi Eric,

Thanks for the city & country praise! When I saw that stat on the infographic (“1/2 of the U.S. population lives within 5 miles of their workplace”) I definitely thought – WOW lucky Americans! I’m not shocked by your correction. I wonder where the editor of the infographic received it?

I guess the conclusion can be here… if you are lucky enough to work within 3-5 miles of your home, consider cycling at least 2 – 3 times a week?

Thanks for your comment. And come back and visit again soon!

      Linda
